Time for a quick catch-up at what’s been through the doors of Andy’s Bike Clinic over the last week or so. First off, we have a lovely Norco Valence. Shimano Road Sora 2×9 with SRAM road Tektro brakes and an FSA crankset, this bike received an Interim Service along with a new KMC Chain USA 9 speed chain. Beautifully balanced bike.
Read moreFinally we have a Cannondale Bicycles Quick which was in need of a service. Lightly used, but stored in a damp garage over the winter meant the gears and brakes were out. The chain had also rusted quite badly. So, the chain was broken, degreased, cleaned, re-fitted and lubed. The rest of the bike was treated to an Intermediate Service meaning its ready for the impending Spring sunshine we all deserve!
Read moreNext up a Gt Bikes II Grade which sports a very natty 2×11 setup and full Shimano Cycling hydraulic brakes. Nice. It needed a bit of TLC though, and a fair bit of expenditure; replacement Shimano Road chain, Shimano Road cassette and a FSA big chain ring (Ouch!) Topped off with a trued rear wheel and an Intermediate Service to ensure everything was working as it should, it was back to mile-munching between East Lothian and Edinburgh.

Read moreNext up we have a mighty, mighty Pinnacle Ramin. This is one burly bike with full Shimano MTB XT, Shimano MTB SLX hydraulic brakes and Alexrims. New cassette, re-aligned gear hanger, new bottom bracket cups and a trued rear wheel meant it could make it out over the Easter break with accurate, smooth shifting guarantee.
Read moreDeja vu? Kind of. This is last week’s owner’s summer Trek Domane. An Annual Service, replacement KMC Chain USA chain and new Schwalbe tires (official) Luganos and the bike was ready to take advantage of the glimpses of sun over the Easter weekend.
Read moreThis Trek Domane is the owner’s winter bike, and as such, had seen a fair amount of rain and muck over the last 4 or 5 months. An Annual Service, Raleigh Bicycles pads front and a rear (and a new rear mudguard) and new Fibrax Limited gear cables means this is one bike that can be put away for 6 months before tackling the worst the Lothian’s weather can throw at it all over again.
